Dear friend,

God pays close attention to what we say.  In fact, both our words and our faith are involved when we are first saved from our sins.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,

you will be saved.

For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Romans 10:9,10 (NLT)

If we truly believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Jesus from the dead, then we will declare our faith with our mouth!  This truth applies to salvation and to opening doors to our future.

After I became a widow, I began to speak the Word of God. I wrote down scriptures and the things that God showed me in a little notebook.  The devil was on both of my shoulders, tempting me to doubt God’s Word.

I was determined to be like that energizer bunny, so I kept going and declaring, “God’s Word WILL come to pass!”

Line up your future this year with God’s Word and don’t stop.

There’s power in the Word of God!

As we enter 2026, Pastor Jo reminds us that our words act as the architect of our future, setting the boundaries for what we will experience. To walk in victory, we must refuse to project past mistakes into our future and instead align our speech with God’s promises. By meditating on the Word and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we access the strength and courage commanded in Joshua 1:8-9. Because the power of life and death resides in the tongue, we should never speak doubt, but rather trust in the "future and a hope" promised in Jeremiah 29:11. God has a successful plan for your year; believe His Word and speak only of the victory He has already placed within you.

While Mary’s heart of belief allowed her to welcome the Messiah with the confession, “Let it be done to me,” Zacharias’s doubt initially led to him being silenced by the angel Gabriel to prevent his negative words from interfering with God’s plan. It was only when Zacharias aligned his speech with God’s instructions by writing, “His name is John,” that his tongue was loosed in praise. Ultimately, because words flow from the heart and hold immense weight, we are encouraged this Christmas to believe God’s promises and speak only what aligns with His word.

Before making a purchase or investment, check your internal peace. If you feel frantic, panicky, or find yourself wavering, wait. We cannot clearly hear the Spirit’s guidance when we are overwhelmed by the world’s pull. Remember, we are in this world but not of it (John 17:16).
